After you know the 1-4-5 chords what do you learn next?

Question:

In a song, I know that you play the 1,4,5 chords, but what if there are also minor chords in the song, how do do know what minor chord to play?

Answer:

That's a great question ....... in every key, when as scale is harmonized the scale produces a series of chords (three major chords 1, 4, 5 chords), (three minor chords 2,3,6 chords) and one diminished chord (the 7 chord).

For example the key of C would produce:

chord 1 = C major

chord 2 = D minor

chord 3 = E minor

chord 4 = F major

chord 5 = G major

chord 6 = A minor

chord 7 = B diminished

chord 8 = C major
