Bar chords easy - build endurance insider secrets revealed!

Question:

Have you any advice for me in respect that I have a rather short index finger on my fretting hand. Would like to conquer bar chords.

Answer:

The trick with bar chords is to play the bar chord with your outside part of your first finger (the side next to your thumb) by rolling your first finger on it's side rather that laying it flat (as it appears in most books) you will easily achieve a clear tone.

Make certain that your guitar has a low action so you can press the strings down easily.

The size of your index finger is not a problem rather how relaxed it is.

Another point is to make sure you have enough endurance to hold the bar chord down ... a great way to build the muscles you need to play bar chords (in your left hand) is:

1.To hold a double page out of the newspaper out in front of you at shoulder height.
2.Hold the paper with your left hand using your thumb and index finger
3.Now, using a rolling action (you can use any fingers) roll the page into a tight ball (remember to only use your left hand) I'm assuming you are a right handed player.

If you roll three pages in this manner, that's the equilivant to a half hour's muscle development.

Rave Reviews for Express Guitar:

As a student of Mike Hayes since 1999, I have found his teaching methods and products to be first class. Whatever style or area of music I have been interested in, he has provided me with useful information, advice and study materials. His style of teaching and teaching products enabled me to progress through his guitar course far quicker than I ever imagined. He also helps in teaching yourself to find and develop your own style of music. Mikeís teaching gives his studentís the ability to become useful musicians, not just guitarists.

This course teaches us how to learn, how to retain, and how to recall information quickly. This entire program is built around "connected learning" with key phrases, picture words ( yes there is such a thing ) and the most dynamic personal motivator I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
